Authorised representative for extended producer responsibility

In plain wordsA person or company established in a country who takes on the extended producer responsibility duties there for a business that is not established in that country.

Also called: EPR representative · EPR authorised representative

What it means in practice

One is appointed per country, by written mandate, and it is a different thing from the representative appointed for product conformity. Exactly which duties transfer is a national question rather than a settled EU one: Germany, for instance, moves everything across except entry in its own register, which stays with the business. Checking what a country hands over is worth doing before assuming a representative covers all of it.

Commonly got wrong about this

Find someone who acts as a representativeThis site lists people and companies who say they act as a representative, organised by the country they act in. Nobody here is checked, rated or ranked — each listing is what that person wrote about themselves, and the conversation happens directly between the two parties.
