Terms of use
This site is free to use. There is nothing to pay, nothing to subscribe to, and no part of it is held back behind a payment.
What this site does
It explains what published packaging rules say, in ordinary words, and shows you where each statement comes from so you can read the source yourself. That is the whole service.
What it does not do
- It is not legal advice. Nobody here has looked at your business. The questions you answer are yours, unchecked, and what comes back is a list of rules that look like they might matter for a situation like the one you described — not a decision about your position.
- It does not check anybody in the directory. Every listing is written by the person or business it describes. We do not confirm that any of it is true, we give no badges or ratings, and being listed means nothing beyond that somebody typed it in.
- It handles no money and concludes no agreement. If you find somebody through the directory, whatever you agree with them is between you and them. We are not part of it, we hold no mandate and we take no cut.
- It files nothing anywhere. Anything this site produces is a draft for you to read, finish and sign yourself. We never send anything to a register or an authority for you.
- It is not a tax or legal adviser, and it does not cover VAT, duty, product safety or waste rules other than packaging.
Getting things right, and getting them wrong
Everything here is checked against the law itself or against a government source, and every page says when it was last read there. Rules still change, sources still get misread, and a statement can be out of date between one reading and the next. Before you act on anything, check it against the source we link to, or ask the authority named on the page.
If you think something here is wrong, please tell us. We will check it against the source. We cannot promise how long that takes, and we cannot promise we will agree — but a reader who spots a mistake is the most useful message this site receives.
If you publish a listing
- You are responsible for what you write, and for it being true.
- Your listing is public and search engines can index it. Do not put anything in it you would not want read by anyone.
- Wording that claims a status nobody granted, or promises an outcome, is refused when you submit it. That is housekeeping on our own pages and says nothing about how good you are at your job.
- We may hide a listing that is spam, abusive, impersonating somebody, or illegal. If we do, we tell you what we did, why, how long it lasts and how to challenge it. Anyone can report a listing on the report page.
- You can take your listing down at any time and it goes immediately.
Availability
This is a free service run by a small operation. It may be unavailable, it may change, and it may stop. Nothing here promises otherwise.
Where we stand if something goes wrong
We are liable where the law says we are — for harm caused deliberately or through gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. Beyond that, this is free information you check yourself before relying on it, and we do not take on liability for decisions made from it.
Which law applies
Austrian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protections of the law where you live — those apply whatever this page says.
